19 arrested at Anambra APC primary election

Nineteen men were arrested, on Saturday, at the entrance of the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, in Awka, Anambra State, accreditation venue of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election.

The young men, who were arrested by the security oprratives on ground led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operation, Mr. Mike Okoli, could not show any evidence of being delegates to the election.

Already both delegates and the security operatives were getting worried that accredited has not started as at now, 10.15am as the Governor Ibrahim Shettima primary election panel were yet to arrive the venue.

The DCP Operations had severally asked the official of the party in the state who were around to contact there people to come and commence the exercise as time was running fast. As at now only Dr. Obinna Uzor was the aspirant that has shown up at the venue.

The venue is firmly under the control of the joint security team, with the police and DSS in charge at the venue.
