Dangers That May Affect Nigeria joining Saudi-led Coalition - CAN

The Christian As­sociation of Ni­geria (CAN) has said that Nigeria should await the repercussions of joining the Saudi Ara­bia-led coalition against terrorism, saying that it had earlier warned that such plans had ulterior Islamic motive.

Sunday Oibe of the youth wing of North­ern CAN, told The AU­THORITY that Nige­rians and church were warned about the nega­tive impact of joining such a coalition but jet­tisoned it.

He spoke at Iffe in Iju­mu Local Government Area of Kogi State dur­ing the enthronement of Rt Rev Jacob Ibikunle as the Bishop of Okun Diocese.

“So, what do you want CAN to do in this circumstances? Every choice we make in life has a reward. When the Israelites wanted a king despite all warning, they went ahead and made a choice and so we have made a choice; may we enjoy the sweetness of our choice”, he stated.

Only on Sunday, Prelate of Methodist Church of Nigeria, Dr Samuel Uche, alleged ‘grand plan’ by Presi­dent Muhammadu Bu­hari to turn Nigeria into an Islamic state.

“We are closely watching this govern­ment because we are aware there is a game plan to islamise Nigeria and they are using the Fulani herdsmen to ini­tiate it before they fully launch it out.

“But I tell you there is going to be serious resistance from Chris­tians. If they think they can use the Fulanis to exterminate us, then they have failed. Look at what is happening in Benue State and all over Nigeria, the herdsmen will just invade a com­munity and wipe out every living creature there before they set the place ablaze. In fact, the issue of Fulani herds­men is now worse than Boko Haram”, he stated.
