Catholic bishops and Mr President Muhammadu Buhari |
The men, who came from all the Catholic parishes in Lagos, asked God to turn-around, for good, the present state of the polity.
Vicar General, Lagos Island and Mainland, Very Reverend Monsignor Bernard Okodua, who represented the Archbishop of Lagos as the chief host of the induction ceremony and 15th anniversary mass of the Lagos Christian Men Organisation (CMO), in his homily, said Christian fathers should learn to serve God with their hearts.
He urged Christian fathers to live lives worthy of emulation by children. He also advised the CMO members to live above board so as to serve as the example of good leadership for the nation.
President, Lagos Archdiocese Catholic Men Organisation, Mr John Aigbohoade, told TribuneChurch that the organisation prayed for peace in families and the nation.
Awards were given to 12 persons for their commitment to the organisation, while four priests received pastoral awards.
The convention planning chairman, Mr Emmanuel Iweha, said this year’s four-day event featured vigil, empowerment seminars, health talk, spiritual talks and daily mass.
